Podtoid 178: A Bat With A Bra

Podtoid 178: A Bat With A Bra photo

On this week's edition of Podtoid, we talk about the latest bit of review drama, as well as return to yet more Skyrim chatter. There's also a rather nice little discussion on why the Wii would have been the very best HD console on the market, and why the games we typically think of as representing HD aren't doing a good job of it.

Don't worry though, it's not all game talk. We learn about psychotic countertransference in a terrible new segment, we find out about Jonathan Holmes' new musical project, we find out that a guru is selling handwritten books alongside lotion, and we get sexy with cartoon bats. Also, poor Max Scoville is feeling quite sick, so wish him well!

A Bat with a Bra?

A bat with a bra.
Fucking Mario Kart.
Rouge wears a bra? I guess I need to finish the episode...
I didn't expect the shitstorm over the Mario Kart 7 review... I was done after the N64 game, as fun as it was.

I'm more than a little envious of Jim's massive... gaming rig.
I wish I could play Skyward Sword in HD... (after I own it come Christmas).
I love the whole bit about how people aren't video game NPCs, and then the transition into rectum play.
Batman wears a bra
Bat Tits
Murio Kart.
'sup, Holmes?
Get well, Mr Scoville!
Bat-Man has really let himself go. Look at how big and floppy his breasts have become.
Thankfully, he had a bat-bra and bat-girdle in his utility belt. Then again, what doesn't he have in there but firearms and bullets and the sense not to go wading into dangerous situations against a superior number of armed foes in nothing but an armor plated Halloween costume with a bunch of toys stashed in his general swimsuit areas.
Dammit, fellas.
I love the Skyrim game guide. The guy at Gamestop gave me one when I picked up my copy of Skyrim, free! FREE!! I didn't even ask for one.

I love the lyrics to the song of the Dragonborn ...sometimes I sing it, just because!
When are you guys going to start talking video games during your podcast? Enough pedophilia talk. It's over done and not funny.
We are actually planning to put more game discussion in the very moment you stop listening, Chewbakke. Please stop forcing us to drag the topics of the show into the gutter!
Yeah Chew stop dragging it down ffs!

You people.....
-are you talking about children
-kids are dicks

lol best gaming site ever
Jim RA Salvator is writing/ overseeing the writing of Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning not george rr martin otherwise I love you.
Great Podtoid as always guys. I just had some comments on this weeks episode.

First, I want to say that I totally agree with Jim Sterling. The Sea is fucking bullshit. Everything in it too scares the shit out of me, or pisses me off. I have a better name for fish too. I call them naturally occurring water garbage. Shrimps are cockroaches that can swim, and crabs/lobsters are essentially giant spiders. If I have to swim, do me a favor and kill me first.

Second, I have a great question for the "Is it Pedophilia or not?" segment. Jonathan Holmes, perhaps you could answer this best. If you were to travel back in time to when you were a child, and you met up with the kid version of you, and molested the hell out of them.. is this pedophilia? Or is it masturbation?... Also, is it incest? Who the hell knows, but I tell you one thing. 90% of all time travelers are convicted pedophiles. This is a fact and has been proven with sciences. Seriously.. Don't let your kids play with time travelers.
A sterling with a bra.

I am joking.
Jonathan Holmes = Destructoid's Garrison Keillor?

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense to me.

If the next Podtoid opens with Holmes singing the opening bars of "Tishomingo Blues", then the transformation will be complete.
More people need to speak up about the sea. It's not alright.
OH GAWD REDDI MAD
I do aprove Rogue's boobs. Thank you for that pic Jim.
@Skid Row Trash: I have been asking myself the same damn question ever since I watched Back to the Future. I'm particularly more interested in going back in time to bang celebrities back when they were nobodies and giving a good impression, then coming back to the present to see the repercussions (or REWARDS) for doing so.
Is it paedophilia if a 50 year old man gets reverted to the age of 9 with the same mind, then starts touching up some sweet, sweet kiddies?

Great show guys, energy was low but it was still great. Looking forward to the next 'regular weekly segment'! Thanks for the Snorlax covered in whipped cream image Jim, something to think about later tonight...
I can see where you're coming from on Mario Kart, but do you think you might've treated it differently if it were called Mario Kart DS 2?

I mean, it's probably a huge improvement for the handheld series, but it shouldn't have called itself a sequel to a console game.
I would have her children, which is not possible.

That pod cast is good just like the last. Looking forward to the next one. Also I hope he feels better.
@Jim Sterling
Sorry mate, but there are better produced podcasts with better quality content out there as an alternative to your driveling 3rd grade playground humor filled "show".

I'm sure it's common practice at Destructoid to belittle people who give you feedback about a show. So I'll just be moving along to better shows that don't rely on pedophilia jokes for their content.

From a bag of Doritos to a bag of dirty laundry
