Dance Central has always been light on the story and heavy on the action, but this fall, that's all about to change. Harmonix has just released new details on that story mode you've heard so little about, giving us a look at the heart of Dance Central 3 gameplay.
In Dance Central 3, each crew is now assigned a decade: Lu$H/'70s, Hi-Def/'80s, Flash Forward/'90s, and Riptide/'00s. The DCI crew Lima and Rasa, who you meet at the beginning of the game, represent Dance Central Intelligence. Players will join DCI and dance solo or cooperatively, learning the signature moves of each time period, in order to stop the evil plot of Dr. Tan, who seeks to destroy Dance Central once and for all. The above dev diary explores a little more of the outfits, stages, and moves themed to fit each decade, discussing how they chose each crew for their particular era.
Harmonix also announced a batch of new songs, spanning The Trammps "Disco Inferno" to "Around the World" by Daft Punk. This brings the total list of known songs to 30 out of the promised 40+. The whole batch debuts with Dance Central 3 on October 16.
Heyo, Cupid Shuffle! This is getting better by the day! I'm going to pretend that I didn't watch that video, though, because it quite possibly made Step Up movies seem like factual accounts in comparison.

While we can't directly embed 343 Industries' new video overview of Halo 4 Infinity multiplayer -- you'll need to head over to Halo Waypoint to catch it for now -- it's still worth a post. Particularly if you have not been fo... more
The first video from Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn was a bit slow, but that's not entirely unexpected given the way this content is cut up into weekly installments. Today's part two was a step in the right direction, I thought.
