E.X. Troopers getting multiplayer, anime, limited edition

For a game that's coming to PlayStation 3 and 3DS later this year Capcom has been pretty tight lipped about E.X. Troopers. Well, that is until today when the publisher brought the cel-shaded Lost Planet spin-off center stage at their Summer Jam event in Tokyo. There Capcom revealed co-operative multiplayer for the upcoming third-person shooter, which players in attendance were given the opportunity to go hands-on with at the event. Also announced was the involvement  of Dai Sato of Halo Legends and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex fame, who is working on the game's story

Additionally Capcom proclaimed that E.X. Troopers would be getting a promotional anime film to be packaged with the August 30th release of Sengoku Basara HD Collection for PlayStation 3 and a limited edition of the game would include a figure of TeeKee, both of which are shaping up nicely if the screens in the gallery below are any indicationI think the game is looking fantastic thus far and can't help but think 3DS owners clamoring for something to play should give Capcom an earful. It'd be really unfortunate if this became yet another great-looking title that never made the journey west.

Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)

Ah. I would like this very much.
Doesn't look like the kind of thing capcom would release in the US. Sadly. So very sadly.
Funny ... This doesn't look like MegaMan Legends.

Sorry. Had to say it. Either waY this looks awesome and I truly hope it comes statewide.
Might just have to import the PS3 CE. I don't understand Japanese, but this seems easy enough to pick up and play.
@lastkingofhearts:
Of course it doesn't. This isn't an ancient IP that people need to just accept has passed away.
i wish we have Metal Gear Acid 2 with this kind budget.

i wonder if Capcom plans on localizing this game???

much better than Lost Planet 3(lol i don't think this game is a Lost Planet)
Still will be better then Lost Planet 3.
Man I hope this comes over. As digital at least.
Rather if it will end up being a successful strategy or not, I'm happy capcom is throwing some crazy into the world of AAA or at least AA games. Cause this looks certifiable.
I'm not the only one one that finds it odd that it releases on PS3 and 3DS right?
Kind of a random combo unless I'm missing something here.
@TurboKill

actually Ni No Kuni did the same thing(although it's for the DS)
Yet another news update for this game and it isn't about this coming to the US.

Fuck my life.
Still not common. Though I don't mind good games on the 3DS.
I'd have an opinion, but I'm afraid I'll be banned from dtoid for it. Cause opinions are worth firing someone over.
I can't be the only one who thinks this makes Lost Planet look bad can I?
This is Capcom's last chance, if they fail to release this game in Western territories then I will not support them in future endeavours.
I'm with Conan-san, tho I am not sure if this will be enough to dig them out of the MML3 hole they dug for themselves ~.~

I would be a half decent start.

I want to love you Capcom you just make it so damn hard >,<
@Qreg I think it looks fine, it just doesn't look anything like Lost Planet. In fact, "Lost Planet" isn't even in the title. It kinda makes you wonder why Capcom's bothering in the first place.

If all that's the same is the name of the planet, why not just come up with a different name?
I really want this game.
I'm such a sucker for these cheesy hot headed anime games.
Need to see more gameplay. The trailer they released a while ago made the game look extremely boring, and I'm definitely not going to be picking it up for the story; those generic, androgynous, highschool characters are vomit-worthy.
Pretty excited for this

@TurboKill
It is a somewhat peculiar combo, but it's actually a pretty smart one. By releasing it on the PS3 you're making it available to console gamers and the Sony fanbase, and by releasing it on the 3DS you're making it available to handheld gamers and Nintendo fans. This is actually a very good decision because PS3 is currently selling the highest software for consoles in Japan, and the 3DS is selling the highest software for portables. By simply releasing it on 2 platforms they've gotten mostly every type of gamer covered. It's seems like a really good strategy actually because it prevents over-saturation by releasing it on every console, it's hitting the 2 devices that currently sell the most software in japan.
Looks like a ton of fun. Would grab if it was localized.
I wanna play it.
me love some space miko figure, importing!
@Scissors

That's perfect reason.
Thanks.
I totally want this game!!

Seriously it's now my most- wanted game, after Ni No Kuni!
Can I has a US release plz?
It looks like a lot of fun. I really hope this does get a US release.
Looks fabulous. I'd play it.

It seems pretty clear the budget and development for this game was partly derived from the canceled Legends 3, though, so I'm not sure if buying it means I'll be okay with that. :/ Still feeling a tad sore from that.

But hey, again: looks fabulous.
I really don't see what the big deal is. If a gamer wants it bad enough, he'll buy a Japanese 3DS for the game. It's not like There's an external force prohibiting you from ever purchasing and playing it. Ebay international is there for a reason. This weird mentality of wanting everything spoon fed to you in this generation...I swear...
