The Chang Thai Resort sits in a quiet, richly wooded valley nestled between the TECC's core area and the Mahout Training School, which is only a 5-minute walk away. The setting encourages peaceful walks and bird watching.

The resort has 20 separate bungalows, six bungalows with a large bedroom and a smaller bedroom (1,500 baht/night) and 14 with only one large bedroom (1,000 baht/night). Only one bungalow has a large bedroom with a double bed; all other bedrooms, large and small, have two twin beds. All of the large bedrooms have air-conditioning, while the small bedrooms have only a fan. All bungalows have a spacious living area, a balcony, a bathroom with hot water and Western-style toilet, hot water for coffee, a TV, and a refrigerator.

The resort is especially suitable for large groups, with beds for a total capacity of 46 people, though extra beds/mattresses can be added for 200 baht/night. The Chang Thai Resort is also a popular choice for Homestay or Trekking guests who wish for more space or more privacy.

The Chang Thai Resort works best for visitors who have their own transportation, though the TECC can often help with internal transportation. Guests can arrange for an elephant ride - alongside a beautiful stream - from the resort to the show ground for two people for 400 baht.

Guests renting the two-bedroom bungalows are given six free admissions to the elephant show. Guests renting the one-bedroom bungalows are given four admissions to the show.

A restaurant, the Ayora, is open from 7 am to 10 pm and offers excellent Thai cuisine. The Ayora is very good for large catered events.
