Vita continues to lack traction in Japan

Vita continues to lack traction in Japan

Sales of Sony’s PlayStation Vita in Japan barely scraped above 10,000 units last week as both Nintendo’s 3DS and its predecessor the PSP outsold it once again.

Vita shifted 10,023 units between February 27th and March 4th – that’s down 1,163 units week-on-week according to Media Create.

By comparison, the 3DS sold 70,744 units. Even the PSP fared better, shifting 15,715 machines

The PS3 also outsold it with weekly sales of 65,116. That’s a weekly jump over over 100 per cent, thanks in no small part to the blockbuster release of Namco Bandai’s One Piece: Pirate Warriors, which shot to No.1 with week one sales of 655,774.

There are no Vita titles in the current Japanese Top 20.

Also note the wonderfully entitled PSP release I Don’t Have Many Friends Portable which claimed 19th place in this week’s charts.

As soon as Monster Hunter is released for the Vita in Japan it will then sell alot more than...3DS...maybe...ok it should beat the psp.

Currently there isn't a Monster Hunter title coming for the Vita, its a 3DS title.
