Asian Beach Games
The Asian Beach Games have proved to be a runaway success since the first edition in Bali, Indonesia, in 2008, and are held every two years to cope with the demand for hosting rights.

The relatively low costs of staging the beach sports festival, with temporary rather than permanent venues, and high potential for tourism and resort promotion and development have attracted massive interest from around the continent.

So much so that the OCA calendar is already booked through to 2016, with Haiyang, China (2012), Phuket, Thailand (2014) and Nha Trang, Vietnam (2016) following the host of the second Asian Beach Games, Muscat, Oman, in 2010.

Popular sports include beach soccer, beach volleyball and waterski/wakeboard.
