Hey I´m German and Germans always complain...so here we go...whoever compiled this list never heard of true Death Metal, I have to assume.

Let´s see...

Sodom, Sepultura, Terroizer and Napalm cannot by any means be included into a Death Metal essential list.Come on, "Diatribes" is the most experimental and uncommon ND release ever, the only connection to Death Metal was maybe "Harmony Corruption". Terrorizer´s "World Downfall" an all-time classic but Death Metal ? Never ever ! NP & Terrorizer have to be included in the essential 15 of Grindcore with Assück and other Greats ! Sodom & Sepultura are standard thrash acts of the 80ies, classic but thrash not death. Venom and Bathory would go as originators of Black Metal (ever heard of a Venom release of the same name). Here´s a few ideas for truly essential DM albums:

US:
"Pierced From Within" by Suffocation
"Legion" by Deicide
"Retribution" by Malevolent creation
"Butchered At Birth" by Cannibal Corpse
"From Beyond" by Massacre
"Imperial Doom" by Monstrosity
"Dawn Of Possession" by Immolation

Europe
"Left Hand Path" (not "Wolverine Blues") by Entombed
"False" by Gorefest
"War Master" by Bolt Thrower
"Necroticism" by Carcass
"The Rack" by Asphyx
"Like an Everflowing Stream" by Dismember
