Wasn't George Clooney just such a bad actor in the 90s?

Been watching old episodes of ER and some of his 90s movies like Batman & Robin & One Fine Day.

His acting was atrocious.

Luckily he has improved but my god he sure needed whatever acting coach he was given.

I've never really been fond of him, even in his Roseanne days.

I think he's a charismatic actor - not hugely versatile but he does have a presence on screen, IMO, and a dry delivery of humour in his more light hearted films... Also, I don't know if it's so much that his acting has changed/improved, or whether, having proved he can help shift cinema tickets, plus the fact that he's made himself some powerful friends in the world of film, he's able to appear in movies that are better written, and better suited to him than his early stuff.
I am slightly biased, in as much as I think he's gorgeous!
But I would still admit it if I thought his acting sucked - honest!!

Loved him and the film 'Three Kings ' 1999. ( His best film??)

Maybe that is the exception that proves the rule ?

He looks like a classic 40s style movie star but his acting is incredibly bland.

The only movie I have liked him in was 'Out of Sight', funnily enough only movie I've liked Jennifer Lopez in too (well only movie of hers I've actually watched...) and that was in 98/99 I think.

He was helped in ER by great scripts and being surrounded by great actors. The character of Doug Ross was so well written and ER being so huge certainly helped him grow as a star and his 'appearance' certainly helped

I thought his style suited the Oceans remakes quite well.

He was great in this. It's been downhill ever since I'm afraid. (That's him @ 2:06)

I can remember him in Roseanne, he was a decent guy and then they changed his character and he tried to rape Roseanne's sister (the writers were losing it at this point).

I've never been his biggest fan but he was great in ER, if anything he's got worse since then.

I think you might be getting mixed up. Booker never raped Jackie, in fact I don't think anyone raped Jackie, though she does have an physically violent relationship with Fisher.

That would explain why his character changed then, it wasn't him.

Just looked up the Fisher character and the actor who played him is married to the actress who played Jackie.

I never knew that.

I think Laurie Metcalf is great.

He was very good in Out of Sight, but that was a good film as a whole and it showed the talents of Steven Soderbergh as a director. It was also the first time we saw the excellence of Don Cheadle as an actor on the big screen, who is one of the most underrated actors in my opinion.
