Borrowing & Circulation

Circulation privileges are automatically accorded to those holding valid Indiana University Southeast photo identification cards. Library privileges may also be granted to researchers not affiliated with the university. Learn more about our loan periods and how to acquire library privileges at our Borrowing & Circulation page.

Interlibrary Loan

As a service to IUS faculty, staff and students, the IUS Library will borrow materials from other libraries. Learn how to make a request for a book or other resource, and find links to our interlibrary loan policies at the Interlibrary Loan page.

Request Delivery

IUS students, faculty and staff may place requests online via IUCAT for delivery of materials to the IUS Library. Materials that are checked out may not be requested. Requests for delivery ususally take 4-7 working days to complete.

Materials from the IUB Law Library, IUB Kinsey Library, Lilly Library, CEDIR Library, Archives of Traditional Music Library, Cyclotron Library, University Archives Library, and the Bloomington Residence Halls are excluded. In addition, some materials (i.e. reference books, other non-circulating collections and short term loan collections) from other libraries may be excluded.

For more information, visit the Request Delivery information page (http://www.indiana.edu/~libopac/iucathelp/request_context.html).

Course Reserves

Print Course Reserve Materials may be checked out at the Circulation Desk. Electronic Course Reserve materials are available online. Students can learn how to access Reserve material, and faculty can learn how to place material on reserve, at our Course Reserves page.

Purchase Request

The IUS Library Collection is largely formed by the Purchase Requests of faculty members. If you are an IUS Faculty member and wish to request that the Library purchase a specific book or resource, please visit our Purchase Request page.

Reference Services

The IUS Library provides an array of up-to-date and innovative methods for meeting your information needs. A Reference Librarian is available to answer reference questions and provide training on the use of the electronic and manual resources available in the library. Learn more about our reference services.
