Oblivion should be #1, even as it has aged. I agree that Fallout 3 should be in there as well. Anything Bethesda does will have gorgeous landscapes with a real sense of place.
Wow...Obviously this guy never played the original God of War. Ignoring the run through Athens while Ares is destroying the city, ignoring the beauty and epic-ness of the settings on all the stages, one cannot ignore the titan scene, where Kratos attempts to enter the Labrynth by scaling a moving titan and making your way around his body while he is crawling and stomping...Pretty much the most graphically beautiful and dynamic interface attempted. I wonder why GOW has such a following...
What about Bayonetta? The landscapes were all stunning there!
I'm litteraly shocked that they didn't put Fallout 3 in...
You get a 5 star AM because you made all the fanboys angry who wont shy away from their games for a minute. I'd agree with the Capital Wasteland from Fallout 3 over Oblivion, but I'll take it.
I really figured Grand Theft Auto would be on here. But Oblivion is my favorite, 2nd only to Halo 3. So good enough.
Good job at least getting Cyrodiil from Oblivion, and Uncharted 2, and Far Cry 2 and MAYBE Mass Effect, but other than that, holy crap! Bioshock has one of the greatest worlds ever, but not one of the greatest LANDSCAPES. The entire thing is enclosed. Where is the castle in ICO or the forbidden world of Shadow of the Colossus, or the Capital Wasteland in Fallout 3? Seriously dropped the ball on this one, guys.
Although I do agree with the majority of these, like Oblivion, Mass effect and Assassins Creed. I think Mario and Batman and maybe even Bioshock could be subbed out for Hyrule, Azeroth(seriously why isn't this here) and maybe even Vice City.
Ask men doesn't know f u ck all about games. Mario Galaxy? Piss on that turd. No Fallout3, Ico, or Shadow of the Colossus? What about World of Warcraft? Do yourself a favor and stop making sh it ty lists about a form of media you don't care, or know anything, about.
This list is more about advertising new/current games than actually caring... Where the hell is god of war? The scale of the locales was out of this world.
