Who is "the modern British man"? He's not easy to identify, and attempts to do so typically descend into vague terminology like "macho" and "metrosexual." What we need is data -- real, hard numbers -- that provide insight into how contemporary men think and behave in their professional lives, during their spare time and over the course of their romantic relationships. Men's Dating Trends

The results in the Dating & Sex section of the 2009 GMS revealed that, when it comes to relationships and the politics of sex, men are adopting a pick-and-mix approach, mixing traditional values regarding relationships with more adventurous attitudes toward sex and equality. But some things never change: men still aren't getting as much sex from our women as we'd like. See All Dating Results

It will come as no surprise that the global economic crisis had an impact on the results of the Lifestyle portion of the 2009 GMS. What was surprising was that it didn't really need to. Even though men are saving more money, using cash instead of credit and seeking out professional stability, their actual working and financial lives haven't changed that much.
