Body Hair Turnoffs

Men are quick to chime in about their likes and dislikes when it comes to their girls’ personal grooming habits, and women are often even quicker to dismiss them on the pretense that most men’s preferences on the subject are based on porn (like there’s anything wrong with that!). What women won’t be quick to admit, however, is the fact that they too often have very strong preferences on the subject of body hair (Mars and Venus be damned!). That said, here are the body hair turnoffs that you need to avoid.

Unkempt facial hair

Women are as divided about facial hair preferences as men are on the hair color they prefer on a woman. The fact of the matter is, when it comes to body hair turnoffs above the shoulders, it really depends on the guy. Stick with your preference but do keep in mind that some girls are extremely sensitive to stubble. You don’t want anything getting in the way of that initial make-out time with a girl, and she’ll appreciate your sensitivity. The bottom line when it comes to facial hair is to keep it neat -- whether you’re smooth as a baby’s bottom or your look leans more toward the grizzly bear variety. Nose and ear hair

There’s simply no excuse for an overgrowth of brush in the nose or ear areas. It’s not attractive to anyone and it triggers the "old man" image in a woman's mind. Don’t worry, though, it's also easily remedied. There are special tools to get at the pesky strands, but regular old cuticle scissors work wonders. Not bothering to keep these areas clean is equivalent to a woman being lazy about her leg hair. Would you want that? No, I didn’t think so. Trim it up!

Chest stubble

Ever see that Seinfeld episode when Jerry shaves his chest and later has to deal with stubble? Never attractive. When it comes to areas like the chest, women’s opinions cross the spectrum -- some like a man to be completely movie-star smooth in the area, while others find the completely bare option on a man a bit disconcerting. Ultimately, it’s up to the guy to choose the option he feels most comfy with, but once you shave you need to stay smooth or else you run the risk of making your girlfriend's hands very sore (making it a definite body hair turnoff).

Back and shoulder hair

It might sound unfair, but back and shoulder hair is never really ideal when you're talking about what turns a girl on. They'll love you no matter what, but if it were up to the gals, they'd prefer you not go the "werewolf chic" route if you can help it.
