Every 21 minutes we help put a roof over someone's head.

We all know how hard it is to get onto the property ladder, but imagine if taking that first step was the only chance to live a normal life.

A staggering 2 billion people in our world live in poverty housing and 100 million people are homeless.

Nothing expresses people's poverty more clearly than substandard living conditions. A safe place to live is fundamental to our development. A simple decent home means families are sick less often, children can study and parents can hold down a job.

Habitat for Humanity has built more than 300,000 simple, decent homes in over 90 countries; housing more than 1.5 million people. Every one of them is built with the homeowners' own hands. Every time we help someone build their own home, we strengthen a community and build hope for the future.

You can read about how the ‘hand up' which Habitat provides changed Nabuyungo's life in the enclosed leaflet. Habitat for Humanity is committed to eliminating poverty housing globally. Every 21 minutes we change someone's life by helping them build a simple, decent place to live and new hope for the future.

Please help put a roof over someone's head by giving what you can afford to help families like Nabuyungo's build a new home and a new life.

Yours sincerely
