The Deschutes and Ochoco National Forests of Central Oregon provide a diverse setting for recreation opportunities while managing for multiple uses. Your national forests are managed and cared for to provide valuable terrestrial and aquatic wildlife habitat, healthy streams, and fantastic settings and scenic quality for recreation activities for current and future generations.
Of particular interest to us is: restoring our forests to conditions that are more conducive to sustaining long term ecosystem processes, protecting our communities from large catastrophic fires with hazardous fuels reduction projects, and the “More Kids in the Woods” initiative started by the United States Forest Service to help better connect our youth to nature. |
