Last year Barry earned two Republic of Ireland Under 23 caps in games against Northern Ireland and Belgium. Up to the end of last season he had chalked up 114 competitive appearances with the Hoops. Simon, who gained two Republic of Ireland Under 21 caps as a Rovers' player, played in all of Rovers' remaining games up to the end of the season, displaying a versatility that makes him a worthy asset to the team. No.15 : Corie Treacy

Sponsor : OneTwenty Management

Defender

Corie, who is from Bray, Co. Wicklow, joined Shamrock Rovers just before the start of the 2008 season. Although he impressed in the pre-season campaign he had to wait a little longer before making his league debut, which was against Derry City at Tolka Park in May, and then went on to play a further fourteen competitive games with the Hoops over the course of the season. Sponsor : Sean Fagan Electrical Wholesale

Defender

The name of Patrick O'Sullivan was linked to the Hoops in the weeks leading up to his signing for the club in July 2009. Having begun his League of Ireland career at UCD almost nine years ago, Pat later moved on to Drogheda United, then Longford and from there to Cork City. He returned to his native city though to join the Hoops and made his debut against Derry City at Tallaght Stadium. Pat is no stranger to Shamrock Rovers having previously played for the club at schoolboy level. Date of birth: 30.10.1982

No.5 : Aidan Price

Sponsor : Rochview Trading Ltd

Defender

If he never achieves anything else at Shamrock Rovers, Aidan will always be remembered for the outstanding leadership he showed during the 2006 season, his first at the club, when he captained the Hoops to a First Division title and subsequent promotion. Aidan came to Rovers having followed Pat Scully, who was previously his manager at Kilkenny City. Although he made twenty-one appearances last season, Aidan's progress with Rovers was seriously hampered by injury. Rovers' Player of the Year for 2006. Date of birth: 08.12.81.

No.4 : Darragh Maguire

Sponsor : Jim McLaughlin Supporters Club

Defender

In his second year with the Hoops since joining from St. Patrick's Athletic. This no nonsense centre half thankfully brought with him the form that made him a success at Richmond Park. He also made a successful transition to the middle of the park last year. He says that had he not made it in soccer he would have made a good footballer on the GAA pitch. His consistent contribution last year earned him the Player of the Year at Shamrock Rovers. Date of birth: 06.02.76.

No 6 : Craig Sives

Sponsor : Sonics Audio Visual Integrator

Defender

Edinburgh-born player who joined Shamrock Rovers in June, making his debut in the FAI Cup game against Drogheda United at Tallaght Stadium. Having played in youth football, Craig joined Hearts at the age of 16 and played his first game for the senior team there against rivals Hibs, scoring one of the goals in a 3-1 win. He didn't make the progress he had hoped for as injuries plagued him over the next couple of years and he was finally released by Hearts in January, 2009. A league winner four times, three times with Shelbourne and once at Drogheda. Date of birth: 29.09.75.

No.8 : Stephen Rice

Sponsor : Hoops S.C.

Midfielder

Every now and then a club makes a signing that is the subject of excitement amongst the fans. This was certainly so in Stephen's case as he came to the Hoops from arch rivals Bohs with an impressive reputation. Stephen was just the type of player the Hoops needed in the middle of the park but it all went so wrong when he had a major falling out with the then manager Pat Scully. The case was highly publicised in the media and although he found himself excluded from the squad he stood his ground and eventually made a welcome return to the team after Scully's exit last October. Stephen has won three Republic of Ireland Under 23 caps since he joined the Hoops. Date of birth: 06.10.84.

No.11 : Sean O'Connor

Sponsor : Crescent Electrical

Midfielder

Former St. Pat's player who joined the Hoops at the same time as Richmond Park teammate Darragh Maguire. Sean is a pacey type of performer who can play anywhere in the centre of the park. Date of birth: 06.10.81

No.18 : Dessie Baker

Sponsor : Bermingham Cameras

Midfielder/forward

It seems like an eternity since Dessie came home to Dublin from Old Trafford to join Shelbourne. In fact, it was thirteen years ago that he made his debut for the Reds. He has since played in over three hundred competitive games for Shels, Longford, Rovers and UCD (once). With two league medals and three FAI Cup winners medals, Dessie would love to add to his tally and indeed at just 31 years of age he still has plenty of time to achieve that aim. Date of birth: 25.08.77.

No.21 : Padraig Amond

Sponsor : Tallaght Hoops SC

Forward

Young Carlow lad who might easily have become a household name playing for the Carlow footballers or hurlers. The GAA's loss was certainly soccer's gain in Padraig's case. Padraig first donned a Hoops' jersey at the age of twelve and has continued to grow in stature with the Hoops ever since. He overcame a serious knee injury which he incurred in late 2007 and stormed back to finish 2008 as the Hoops' leading goalscorer. Padraig, who was capped four times last year by the Republic of Ireland's Under 21's, continues to capture the honours, he was recently voted by the public as the County Carlow Sportstar of the Year for 2008 having received over 10,000 votes. Date of birth: 15.04.88.

No.9 : Gary Twigg

Sponsor : Niall Keenan

Glasgow-born lad who made his way up through the ranks to graduate for Derby County’s first team. He later went out on loan to Burton Albion and Bristol Rovers before moving to Airdrie United and from there on to Oxford United and Hamilton before linking up with present Hoops’ boss Michael O’Neill at Brechin City. He also played for Dundee United, Hibernian and Wigan amongst other clubs. He returned home in 2004 to join Belfast club Glentoran but had a very brief spell back in Scotland at Ayr United before finally ‘hanging’ up his boots. He was appointed as manager of Brechin City in 2006. During his career, Michael earned 33 caps at senior level for his native Northern Ireland.

Trevor Croly

Sponsor : Pride of Ringsend SC

Assistant Manager

Trevor had a playing career in the League of Ireland that lasted for over sixteen years. He began at 18 years of age when he made his debut for Drogheda straight from Belvedere. He is probably best remembered for his time at St. Pat’s though but Hoops fans will also remember him from the time he spent in the green and white under Liam Buckley’s tenure. As his playing days began to come to an end Trevor moved into coaching and had spells in this role at Kildare County, Longford Town and St. Patrick’s Athletic before Michael O’Neill appointed him as his number two at Shamrock Rovers just before Christmas.
