Welcome to sugarscape.com the hot new social bookmarking site for teen girls!

Got a question about the site? We’ve got the answers right here. If there's something you want to know that we’ve not covered, please email us on info@sugarscape.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Q. Social bookmarking and sharing – what’s it all about?

It’s a fun way of sharing cool things you come across on the web with your mates and other teens around the world – so sugarscape.com is like a one-stop shop for ALL the best stuff on the internet!

Q. What kind of computer do I need to be able to view sugarscape?

You can use a PC or Mac with:
Internet Explorer 6+ microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx
Mozilla Firefox 1.5+ firefox3-0.com/nl/
Adobe Flash player 9 adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

Q. What is the Sugarscape toolbar and where can I get it?

The Sugarscape toolbar is an add-on to your internet browser which allows you to ‘Sugar’ web pages so they can be shared with other people.

Download the toolbar here sugarscape.com/sugartoolbar

Please note: You will only get this toolbar if you're using Firefox or Internet Explorer. If you are a Safari user on a mac, you will get our Sugarscape bookmarklet. It still lets you Sugar all your fave web finds though.

Q. How do I Sugar something?

Once you have installed your Sugarscape toolbar, all you need to do when you see a cool web page is hit the ‘Sugar it!’ button on the Sugarscape toolbar. You will then get the option to add your comments. And that’s it – it’s now saved to the scape for everyone to see! Oh, and don't forget to share it with you mates, as the more people who view, rate and comment on your bud, the more popular it gets.

Q. What is the difference between Sugar and Shove?

Sugar and Shove are how you bookmark and rate a bud as either being something you think is hot (Sugar) or something you don’t rate at all (Shove).

Q. How can I add/change my snapshot picture?

To add a photo to your snapshot page, click on the ‘you’ drop down menu along the top left navigation bar. Select the ‘your account’ option, and then click on the ‘edit settings’ tab at the top. From this ‘edit settings’ page, go to the ‘picture’ box and you will see an option to upload a picture. Simple!

Q. I uploaded a photo to my snapshot page, why isn’t it live yet?

We pre-approve all snapshot pictures before they go live, so it might take a couple of hours for us to approve your avatar. We have a team of moderators online 24/7, so you won’t have to wait long, we promise.

Q. How can I personalise my Sugarscape experience?

There are a number of ways you can personalise your Sugarscape account (and we’re looking at launching even more in the future). In 'your account' you can select one of the three different scape themes below:

You can also add your own avatar image and dress the 'body' of your avatar in different outfits. You can choose your own wallpaper. And last but not least add your own content by Sugaring your favourite web pages!

Q. How do I report inappropriate content on sugarscape.com?

On every item of user content on sugarscape.com, you will see a REPORT IT button. Click on this, and you will asked to select a reason why what you are seeing concerns you. Submit this form and it will go straight to our moderators to look at.

Q. How do I report inappropriate behaviour?

We take internet safety really seriously, and want sugarscape.com to be as fun and friendly a place to hang out in as possible. If any other user is acting in a way that you feel threatened by, please tell us about it. You will find the REPORT ABUSE link in your inbox, and on the Safety Guidelines page.

Q. I’ve just noticed a mistake/bug on the site – how do I report it?

As we’re such a new site, there may still be a few bugs in the system. We're working hard to make sure they aren't, but if you notice something that isn’t working, or that you think should work another way, we really want to hear from you. There are two ways to get in touch - either via the toolbar (just click the 'Help! It's not working' button), or select the 'tell us what you think' option from the 'help' menu.

Q. How do I delete a friend?

To remove a friend, click on the ‘you’ drop down menu along the top left navigation bar. Select the ‘your friends list’ option and you’ll see all your friends appear with their snapshot pictures. Simply click on the ‘remove friend’ option and you’re done!

Q. How do I delete a bud?

You can delete any bud that you have Sugared, Shoved or Commented on. Simply go to the ‘you’ drop down menu along the top left navigation bar and chose ‘your buds’. All your buds will appear in a list, but can also use the search box if you want to find something quickly. Just tick the box next to the bud you want to delete and click ‘delete from your buds’. Don't forget that you lose the points you got for sugaring the bud when you delete it...

Q. Why are some buds different colours on the Scape?

The colour of a bud denotes whether it is content from a user, the Sugar team, or part of an advertising promotion. The colours are as follows:
Pink frame – this is from Sugar
Grey frame – these are cool links that have been saved by Scapers
Black frame – this is part of an advertising campaign

Q. What does Beta V.1.0 mean?

You might have noticed that we have this as part of our logo at the moment. It is there to tell people that we’ve only just launched the site and there is much more still to come! To check for updates about new arrivals on the Scape, please visit our myspace blog for all the latest news from sugarscape.com.
