POVonline

Okay, for those of you who are so inclined, here's your chance to purchase books that feature the writing of the guy who operates this site.  Most of these links take you to Amazon.Com and if you go there via one of our links, this site receives a tiny percentage of whatever you spend there.  So order a lot of stuff, and it doesn't have to be by Evanier.

Comic Books and Other Necessities of Life
Mark Evanier, with illustrations by Sergio Aragonés

Here's the first-ever collection of Mark's POV columns that ran in Comics Buyer's Guide.  These are all about comic books — their collecting and their creation.  Some of the articles are silly, some are not, but they'll all been corrected and collected and we've interspersed new drawings by Sergio.  So what more are you waiting for?  If you like this website, you'll love this book.  And if you don't like this website, what are you doing reading this?

Wertham Was Right
Mark Evanier, with illustrations by Sergio Aragonés

Here's your chance to buy the second-ever collection of Mark's POV columns that ran in Comics Buyer's Guide.  If you didn't like the first collection, you won't like this one.  If you did like the first collection, you've probably already purchased the follow-up.  So there's really no point in listing the book here.  We just do it out of completeness.

Superheroes In My Pants
Mark Evanier, with illustrations by Sergio Aragonés

Of all the collections that have been published of Mark's POV columns that ran in Comics Buyer's Guide, this is probably the third.  This one features a number of columns about the late Julius Schwartz along with pieces on bad convention panels, Curt Swan, cheap comic fans, unfinanced entrepreneurs, stupid mistakes in comics, Pat Boyette, and other aspects and practitioners of the Art Form.  Fun for the entire family.

DNAgents, Volume 1: Born Orphans
Mark Evanier, Will Meugniot and Al Gordon

At last: The return of one of the great super-teams of the eighties!  The DNAgents were grown in a laboratory and they weren't supposed to have personalities or emotions...but it didn't quite work out that way.  This new volume reprints the first six issues of the comic in black-and-white.  Meet Surge, Sham, Amber, Tank and the lovely Rainbow, and all the incredible creatures that people the world of the DNAgents.

Crossfire, Volume 1: Hollywood Hero
Mark Evanier & Dan Spiegle

Jay Endicott didn't intend to be a bailbondsman, let alone a part-time super-hero.  Through an odd turn of events, he became both...and readers of this 80's comic book classic enjoyed his Hollywood-based exploits, superbly illustrated by Dan Spiegle.  This new volume reprints the first six issues in black-and-white, complete with occasional guest appearances by the DNAgents and the even-odder denizens of Show Business.

Mad Art
Mark Evanier

This one's a lovely paperback filled with biographies of the artists who've worked for Mad Magazine — Sergio, Mort, Wally, Jack, Al, Paul, Dave, Don, George, Bill, Antonio, Tom, Sam, Hermann...all of them — with plenty of examples of their work, many of them previously unpublished.  And there's a history of Mad and how they built their art staff and how it functions and...oh, just order the thing.  You'll want it.

Fanboy
Mark Evanier & Sergio Aragonés

Meet Finster, a comic fan so dedicated that his life is depicted not only by Sergio but by guest artists including Jerry Ordway, Frank Miller, Gil Kane, Neal Adams, Dick Sprang, Bill Sienkiewicz, Brent Anderson, Russ Heath, Joe Kubert, Marie Severin, Brian Bolland, Bruce Timm, Wendy Pini, Jordi Bernet, Phil Jiminez, Bernie Wrightson, Dave Gibbons, Steve Rude, Mike Grell and Dan Spiegle.  We were real proud of this one.

Boogeyman
Sergio Aragonés & Mark Evanier

Finally, the collection all Sergio and Mark fans and horror fanatics have been howling for...the Boogeyman trade paperback!  Follow Mr. Diggs, the singing undertaker, through his graveyard reverie of macabre horrors, chilling hatred and silliest tales of the weird, including the tales of the mysterious magician.  If you missed the series, then be sure to catch the collection in glorious, eerie black-and-white.
