Best Original Score

The music in Taito's celebration of Space Invaders is just as hyper as the visuals. Like Lumines, all sound effects have been cleverly mixed into the music so that blasting Invaders builds the soundtrack. Many, many games feature beat-driven techno, but Space Invaders Extreme is so much more than generic electronic. It's hard to imagine this game sounding better than it does.
