MATT WELCH

Tabloid.net

The late, great, never-quite-dead Tabloid was launched in March 1997 by my dear friends Ken Layne and Charlie Hornberger, as a direct assault on the mediocrity of daily journalism in America. I helped them edit the thing in '98-99, when the daily grind, poverty and San Francisco had worn them down. Our diaspora of correspondents included such deranged luminaries as Tim Blair, Ed Mazza, Tony Pierce and Rob McLean.
