The MYM history
MYM also known as Meet Your Makers was founded by Mark Peter ‘Mercy’ Fries in 2000, published in 2001 and has gone from being a simple Counter-Strike team playing for fun, to one of the worlds leading full scale professional Esports businesses, with contract players from all over the world, who are among the best players in the world in their respective games. MYM has office and headquarters in Denmark, Copenhagen, but also has a subsidiary in Germany. The stock company behind MYM, which owns it 100%, is the media company Regroup Esports A/S.

The detailed version:

2000-2001
The walk down the MYM memory lane goes all the way back to 2000 where the MYM soul and philosophy was founded by Mark Peter “Mercy” Fries, who quit Rainbow Six and went to the Counter-Strike scene instead. Together with some friends he founded MYM in the year 2000 and went public with it as a Counter-Strike team with 9 players in March 2001.

In mid December 2001, MYM got the offer to take over some of the, at that time, best European Warcraft 3 players from a team called PAB (Pee Ka Boo). Their players Bjarke, BladeDk and QDK, joined up and the MYM era in the RTS genre and Warcraft 3 started.

2002
January 2002, MYM got incorporated and entered a new era as a registered professional gaming company.

November 2002, MYM decided to open up a Raven-shield division, as many of from the administration were old Rainbow Six players and a week later they had a full roster for a Ravenshield team.

2003
In February 2003, the Ravenshield section was expanded to a .eu (Europe) and .de (Germany) squad, where they counted some of the best old school Ravenshield players from around Europe.

In March 2003, they opened the doors for a Soldier Of Fortune and Quake 3 Pro sections. Some of the best Quakers and Soldier Of Fortune players in the world now joined forces with MYM.

May 2003, a professional division of French Ravenshield players was opened up, who should act/play on their behalf to French LAN’s.

June 2003, they got a Unreal Tournament 2003 section up. The former team known as SC (Silent Chaos) joined up as the MYM Unreal Tournament 2003 section.

October 2003, the decision to close down Quake 3, Unreal Tournament 2003 and Soldier Of Fortune was taken, as the games were getting old and the LAN scene for them smaller.

October 2003, Regroup Esports I/S (The Company that owns the team) decided to expand from Mark Peter “Mercy” Fries as the sole owner to a wider board of owners. So a board meeting was held and Henrik “Kepler” Andersen, Jacob “Nemesis” Teildorff, Bue “Slash” Lau and Christian “Skurk” Pilgaard bought shares in Regroup Esports I/S and are as of that day legally co-owners of Regroup Esports I/S and Team Meet Your Makers.

October 2003, the best Danish Battlefield team, former known as GN Crew, converted to MYM Battlefield.

November 2003, instead of the newly closed divisions, MYM opened a Halo PC section with 6 members.

2004
March 2004, they opened an Unreal Tournament 2004 division with players from Denmark, as a substitute for the Unreal Tournament 2003 division which were closed down in 2003.

June 2004, 3 of the 5 board members in Regroup Esports I/S steps down, as they want to focus more on their education and real-life. That leaves Regroup Esports I/S with now only 2 owners, Mark Peter “Mercy” Fries and Henrik “Kepler” Andersen.

August 2004, MYM decided to close down 7 game sections, Halo, Battlefield 1942, Ravenshield, Call Of Duty, FarCry, Counter-Strike.sca and Fifa 2004, to focus on their prime games which are Warcraft 3 and Counter-Strike. This due to the fact that they would rather support 2 teams 100%, then 9 teams with a little bit here and a little bit there.

December 2004, Regroup Esports I/S takes in Markus “Army” Stefanko as a board member and owner of Regroup Esports I/S, so MYM got better geared for handling the heavy workload in MYM.

2005
January 2005, MYM published their 5th website, but this time as a full commercial community site with lots of features and a more professional output than the prior ones, to satisfy and please the constantly growing community and numbers of fans.

May 2005, MYM opens up a Danish FIFA division in cooperation with Sennheiser Communications with the Nordics as prime goal.

2006
February 2006, MYM affirms their dominance in Warcraft 3 through signing the worlds most famous and high profiled player – the Korean player Spirit_Moon.

April 2006, the FIFA division is closed due to change of strategy at both MYM and Sennheiser.

April 2006, Regroup Esports and MYM create history, as they have been sold to professional investors. The new owners consist of people from the professional business, communications and sports world and are ready with ”smart capital”– money, network and management experience. The purpose is to turn the team into the world's leading Esports team.

August 2006, Regroup Esports purchases the well-known gaming portal ESNation.com and merges its 50.000 users with the MYM Community. Additionally the former CEO of ESNation is fulltime employed in MYM as the Content Manager of all MYM websites.

September 2006, MYM releases its Swedish Counter-Strike team due missing achievements and recruits a new strong Norwegian team to take over.

November 2006, MYM signs with the Norwegian celebrity player element and adds him to their Counter-Strike roster.

Now
From 2000 to 2006 MYM has gone from being a simple Counter-Strike team playing for fun, to one of the worlds leading full scale professional Esports businesses, with contract players that have gaming as a fulltime employment.
