Chauvinistic norm
The education department has decided to amend CET rules to make it mandatory that the father of a Horanadu Kannadiga candidate should have studied in the State. Most Deccan Herald readers agree that the norm betrays male chauvinism and a patriarchal mindset. But the rule also has backers who say the rule will ensure that there will be less number of Horanadu Kannadiga aspirants and thus more seats will be available for locals.
