The ruler of Dubai is H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also the Prime Minister of the federation of the United Arab Emirates. The crown prince is H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, one of the emir's younger brothers. The emirate is located on the Persian Gulf, southwest of Sharjah and northeast of Abu Dhabi.

  Other countries: Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, USA and Canada.

  The Department of Economic Development (DED) became the first government department in the UAE to implement Kaizen, the world-renowned Japanese principle of total quality management (TQM) at its offices.  
  The Department of Economic Development (DED) announced that it had launched a Franchise management service aimed at developing the growth of new and existing Franchising Businesses in Dubai.  
  The Department of Economic Development has the responsibilities of the following:  
  1. Prepare and maintain a commercial register and supervise its organization.
2. Register and protect industrial and trade property rights.
3. Regulate the affairs of commercial agents and brokers, and commercial advertising offices.
4. Study applications to establish or expand industrial projects, and take appropriate decisions in the light of their commercial viability.
5. Regulate and promote the marketing of the Emirate’s industrial products.
6. Encourage local and foreign investments in commercial and industrial projects, and create the appropriate environment for such investment.
7. Organize exhibitions in cooperation with the concerned parties.
8. Control the insurance industry and supervise insurance companies operating in the Emirate.
9. Supervise the incorporation of companies of whatever nature and register national and foreign companies and study the participation of the government in companies and development projects and represent the government in companies where it has a stake.
 
     
  Department of Health and Medical Services, Government of Dubai  
  Department of Health and Medical Services is dedicated to the mission, to serve all the people in UAE and promote healthy people, healthy families, healthy communities and healthy environments through compassionate care, education and prevention. Public health is the main concern.  
     
  Department of Naturalization and Residence, Government of Dubai  
  The Department of Naturalization and Residency, Dubai, was established in 1971 and is divided into twelve sections, six of which are located within its premises. These sections are:  
  • Naturalization and Passports Section
• Entry Permits Section
• Residency Section
• Investigation and Control Section
• Administration and Finance Section
• Information Technology Section
 
     
  The other six sections of the Department are located around Dubai and in neighboring areas. These are Dubai Airport Passports Section, Rashid Port Passports Section, Shindegah Port Passports Section, Jebel Ali Port Passports Section and Hatta Passports Section.  
     
  Dubai Customs online, Government of Dubai  
  • The main responsibilities of Dubai Customs are Economic Function: Regulate the flow of trade into the business sector.
• Financial Function: Collect revenue.
• Statistical Function: Generate trade statistics reports and analyses.
• Social Function: Regulate imports and exports into and out of Dubai.
 
     
  Dubai Development & Investment Authority, Government of Dubai  
  An organization is responsible for advancing the economic development and growth of Dubai.The Dubai Development and Investment Authority is a Government Authority entrusted with catalyzing the growth and development of Dubai's economy by attracting corporate and private investors to the UAE and by facilitating the growth of leading local businesses and encouraging local entrepreneurs.  
     
  Real Estate Development, Government of Dubai  
  The Real Estate Department is an active department of the Dubai E-Government that has a mission to develop Dubai. Real Estate department had built hundreds of residential, commercial and educational constructions to cope with Dubai growth. The Dubai Real Estate Department has more than 16000 properties all around Dubai: villas, apartments, offices, shops, sheds, showrooms.  
     
  Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Department, Government of Dubai  
  Main role of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Department is Preserving Islamic properties (Awqafs), maintaining and developing them and managing their affairs. The main responsibilitites of this department are:  
  • Developing the roles of the mosque so that it can fulfill its mission in the most appropriate way.
• Spreading Islamic culture, developing Islamic awareness, supervising the publication of the Holy Quran and other books, controlling the recording of religious tapes and their distribution, establishing centers for the learning of the Holy Quran, preparing and publishing the Hijri and Miladi (Christian) Calendars as well as Al Dia review and producing Fatwa and research works.
• Preserving Islamic patrimony through study, revival and diffusion.
• Supervising the department administration, controlling their work and instructing each administration according to its specialization.
• Supervising the organization of ceremonies and religious conferences in Dubai.
• Running Dubai religious associations administratively, financially and culturally.
• Keeping in touch with Islamic centers outside the UAE, namely those which already have a link with Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dept.
• Running and watching over the mosques that are constructed by individuals on alienable and unalienable lands.
• Watching over the mosques that individuals wish to construct in coordination with Dubai Municipality.
• Organizing haj (Pilgrimage) process.
• Giving opinion in Shareea matters on request from the concerned authorities, etc….
