Smith Says OJ Won't Be On His Show, But Smith Speaks For Him

Shepard Smith from Studio B has said over and over that he would not advertise the OJ interview and book but he's managed to speak about it almost daily.

Today he said that OJ was on an interview and said he knew it was "blood money" but he needed the million dollars for his kids. He said he paid off his bills with the money.

During the "All Star Panel" on "Special Report" last night (11/21) the Bush lackeys sat around extolling the wonders of the Medicare Part D program, while bashing the Democrats and their plan to negotiate with drug companies. In fact, right-wing pundit Fred Barnes feels Medicare can't be made any better since he "can't think of anything where the market has worked so well to drive down prices with this competition."

Maybe he was just hoping to find someone to take his place on Countdown as the "Worst Person In The World". Unfortunately, that didn't happen tonight as once again he was awarded the top spot from Keith Olbermann for calling into his show from vacation and taking credit for the OJ cancellation.

Denise Brown: News Corp Offered Family Money to Allow O. J. Simpson Interview to Proceed

In an interview this morning with NBC's Matt Lauer, Nicole Brown Simpson's sister, Denise Brown, claimed that News Corporation, owned by Rupert Murdoch, offered the family millions. Here's some of what she had to to say: "They wanted to offer us millions of dollars. Millions of dollars for, like, 'Oh, I'm sorry' money. But they were still going to air the show," Brown said. "We just thought, 'oh my god.' What they're trying to do is trying to keep us quiet, trying to make this like hush money, trying to go around the civil verdict, giving us this money to keep our mouths shut." Global Hawk Spy Drone Makes First Official Air Combat Command Flight Across USA

On yesterday morning's FOX & Friends Steve Doocy, Gretchen Carlson and Brian Kilmeade announced that a Global Hawk Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) had flown across the United States. "It's the first time anywhere in the United States that one of these big things has flown on an official air combat command mission," Steve Doocy noted. Brian Kilmeade followed up: "Well, you know what? I love it. They gotta be listening in, listening to the right people. If they're listening in at my house, they're gonna be bored to tears." Doocy jumped in to say that he "wasn't sure" that the drone could listen in, but "they can certainly see what's going on in your back yard. ... I don't think you have anything to worry about as long as you're not doing anything against the law."

O'Reilly on OJ cancellation: "The folks did it, and I am the messenger"

Bill O'Reilly is on vacation (out of the country - think he's visiting the troops?) and Laura Ingraham is subbing for him this week. Tonight 11/20/06 the Talking Points Memo framed the OJ controversey within the proscribed confines of O'Reilly's war on culture. O'Reilly phoned in and claimed victory for his traditionalist camp and spun the reversal as a moral victory for FOX, who "did the right thing."

One of the segments featured on Your World w/Neil Cavuto today (November 20, 2006) was a roundtable discussion about Iraq captioned: "Go Big, Go Long, Go Home: Which Does Wall Street Want?" The participants included three cast members from Fox's Saturday morning "business news" show, Cashin' In, and a guest participant, conservative radio talk show host Paul McGuire.

Cavuto Doesn't Report that News Corp. Canceled the O.J. Deal But he Does Report that the Movie, Happy Feet, has a Far Left "Hidden Agenda"

At roughly 3:30 p.m. EDT today (November 20, 2006), News Corp., Fox's parent company, announced that it was canceling not only the publication of O.J. Simpson's book, If I Did It, but the corresponding Fox television special scheduled to air at the end of the month.

Half an hour later, during Fox's alleged "business news" program, Your World w/Neil Cavuto, Cavuto was silent on News Corp.'s move but he did have time for a segment bashing the new movie Happy Feet. He said he thought it was "like an animated Inconvenient Truth." He wondered if Hollywood was trying to "sneak one by us," and he claimed the movie has a "hidden agenda" that is "pretty far left."

Senator James "Global Warming Is Hoax" Inhofe (R-OK) Seems to Think He's Working for FOX News

On Friday morning November 17, 2006, FOX & Friends' trio of hosts conducted an interview with Senator James Inhofe (R-OK), chair of the Committee on the Environment and Public Works, who is up for re-election in 2008. Although I was somewhat familiar with Inhofe's reputation as an ardent supporter of the Bush agenda, I had never actually seen him in action before. As you can see from the video below, the Senator from Oklahoma is an outspoken opponent of the theory that human-produced hydrocarbons have contributed to global warming. Inhofe was discussing the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Nairobi. Kenya and used his FOX News platform to spout right-wing mantras that the UN is bad, Kofi Annan is the devil incarnate, the Kyoto Accords are a joke, etc. He seemed quite hurt that a press conference scheduled in Nairobi at which selected scientists would give "the true side, the true science" had to be canceled because of lack of interest by the foreign media.

One Of The Most Deadly Months For Iraqi Civilians - Iraqi Government's Fault

Today on Studio B with Shepard Smith he spoke about the increase in violence and deaths for civilians for the month of November in Iraq. He said November may end up setting a record for the most deaths for civilians, over 700 had been killed in the past 9 days. The daily death toll remains in triple digits.

Hollywood Reporter says "Fox News Channel might air two episodes of a "Daily Show"-like program with a decidedly nonliberal bent on Saturday nights in late January." Funny, I thought that's what they were already airing at 8:00 Eastern weeknights.

Bill Maher Questions Fox's Reporting Techniques

On Friday night, the final show of the season for Bill Maher on Real Time on HBO he had a segment on where he spoke with Dan Rather about the secret memo that went out from Fox about how their employees were to cover the Democrats winning both Houses of Congress.

This statement has been covered here, before, I just wanted to get Maher's perspective on it.

During Fox On Line with Bill Hemmer, Fox ran a promo commercial for Hannity and Colmes show tonight. The discussion would be about O.J. Simpson. Now, Shepard Smith said you wouldn't be seeing anything about O.J. Simpson on any of the Fox News Shows, it seems he is quite mistaken.

What's even worse is how they referred to O.J. Simpson. In the promo they called him the "Former Gridiron Great" and debate his future. It's so nice who and how Fox decides to bestow their respect to.

Today on Fox On Line with Bill Hemmer they reported on a segment about possible strategies for Iraq. They said first that the Washington Post had said to 'Go Big, Go Hard or Go Home.'

A short time later they said that the Washington Post said, 'Go Big, Go Long or Go Home.'
