Popinjay Bill O'Reilly meddles in Kansas Attorney General race, attacks McClatchy newspapers

Reported by Chrish - Tue 4:05 AM

It's all in a day's work on The Factor 11/06/06. Doing his part to rile the disenchanted Republican base with the ever-useful abortion issue, O'Reilly continued his attacks on Dr. George Tiller and McClatchy Newspapers, who own The Wichita Eagle and The Kansas City Star. To assist him was conservative talk-radio host Megan Mosack who lives in Topeka Kansas, which is coincidentally (?) home of hate-mongering Fred Phelps.

News Corp's Murdoch - American death toll in Iraq "minute"

Reported by Chrish - Tue 2:00 AM

Australian-born Rupert Murdoch, owner of News Corporation which in turn owns FOX News Channel (among many other media holdings), told reporters at a conference in Tokyo that the American death toll in Iraq "by the terms of any previous war are quite minute," and he has no regrets about backing the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

State of Denial, FOX Style.

O'Reilly's turn to distort CMPA findings - if the news for Republicans is bad it must be the liberal media

Reported by Chrish - Tue 1:02 AM

In typical FOX fashion, Bill O'Reilly echoed a sentiment of his colleague John Gibson in criticizing a study on the media, twisting the analysis and claiming it supports the "liberal media" myth. Both these segments were opinion pieces on supposed news programs; FOX devotees, who tune the TV to FNC and leave it there all day for company, hear these opinions repeated and take them as fact.

Give Sean Hannity A Nervous Breakdown: Vote Democratic!

Reported by Ellen - Tue 12:32 AM

Here we are on election eve and, just as the pollsters predict, this Independent has decided to break Democratic. There are a few good Republican candidates on my ballot, one of whom was endorsed by my local, liberal newspaper. And I have been so disgusted by the Republican-appeasing “strategies” of the Democrats that I thoroughly antagonized some nice lady from my state’s Democratic Party who made the mistake of asking me on the phone if they could count on me voting straight Democratic.

FOX News Gives Republicans A Pep Rally Via Hannity & Colmes

Reported by Ellen - Mon 11:48 PM

Republicans outnumbered Democrats by more than two to one again tonight on Hannity & Colmes, even if you count “Democratic pollster” Pat Caddell (who hasn’t worked either for Democrats or as a pollster in more than 25 years) as one of the latter. There was lots of talk about the Republican “surge” and “intensity” and Alan Colmes had to keep reminding everybody that it was normal to see a race tighten in the final days of a campaign. All the Republicans were upbeat about their chances all the time (including “Democrat” Caddell who expressed amazement at the hurt Kerry inflicted on his own Party). Bob Beckel was the only real Democratic guest and somehow, he was the only one who seemed truly relaxed. My prediction: Regardless of the outcome tomorrow night, Republicans will maintain their majority on Hannity & Colmes.

Bill O'Reilly Uses " San Francisco Values" Election Eve Scare Tactic

Reported by Deborah - Mon 11:29 PM

O'Reilly joined Kirsten Powers and Michelle Malkin for some election eve Pelosi bashing so voters would know the horror ahead when those nasty San Francisco values sweep the country if Democrats gain control. O'Reilly used the first half of the segment to discuss Dr. George Tiller, who he called, Tiller the Baby Killer, on Friday 11/03 and managed to weave Nancy Pelosi into the mix so viewers could make a connection before going to the polls tomorrow.

Bill Maher's show is on at 11 p.m. est on Fridays. This past Friday Robert Greenwald was an early guest on his show. The discussion was about Greenwald's documentary, Iraq For Sale. The interview went quite well, even Maher going as far as saying everyone, including fiscal Republicans should see this documentary.

You all should know Robert Greenwald from the famous Outfoxed Documentary that helped start News Hounds. Way to go, Robert! Video from Crooks & Liars: http://tinyurl.com/ygy4dd

Never Mind That the Army Times Says Rumsfeld Must Go -- Neil Cavuto's Big Worry is Whether the Troops Support Hillary Clinton

Reported by Melanie - Mon 6:18 PM

Neil Cavuto interviewed Condoleezza Rice live today (November 6, 2006) for 19 uninterrupted minutes. (Unlike Bush and Cheney, Rice at least had the cojones to be interviewed live.) The first 16 minutes or so consisted of talk about Iraq and how things are going as well as can be expected there, it being a "young democracy" and all. From there Cavuto moved on to Cuba, North Korea, and Iran for roughly another four minutes before getting to this:

I know you don't like to be asked things political or to deal with them. I just want your opinion on Hillary Clinton and whether she commands the respect of the troops.

Desperate to Energize GOP Base, FOX News Not Quoting Its Own Poll!

Reported by Marie Therese - Mon 6:05 PM

During the FOX & Friends program this morning, the interchangeable hosts made a big deal about the last minute Republican "surge" in the polls, frequenting citing the most recent Pew poll, which shows the race tightening to single digits. However, a FOX News/Opinion Dynamics poll of likely voters, covering Saturday and Sunday, November 4th and 5th, shows the Democrats leading nationally by 13%! FOX News apparently can't even bring itself to quote its own polling numbers if those numbers predict a dismal election day for the GOP.

Bill Hemmer Tries To Get Howard Dean To Say That Democrats Will Raise Taxes

Reported by Donna - Mon 12:36 PM

Today on Fox On Line with Bill Hemmer he spoke with Howard Dean regarding taxes and the Democratic Party.

Several times Hemmer said that the Republicans said that Democrats would raise taxes and he showed a poll that said that 61% think Democrats will raise taxes. Howard Dean had to tell Hemmer several times that this was not the case.

FOX News Offers Platform For Republicans’ Opening Arguments For Electoral Challenges

Reported by Ellen - Mon 5:17 AM

Author John Fund was back on Hannity & Colmes last night (11/5/06) denigrating Democratic concerns about election fraud and playing up Republican claims of voter fraud. Fund was nearly ubiquitous on FOX News during the run-up to the 2004 election with his dire warnings about the possibility of massive voter fraud during the presidential election. Funny how those concerns evaporated once Bush was declared the winner. But two days before another likely close election, Fund was back with almost the exact same message. It was déjà vu all over again.

Feisty Democrats on Hannity & Colmes “Special” Help Make Up For Unbalanced Guest List

Reported by Ellen - Mon 4:21 AM

FOXNews.com described last night’s (11/5/06) special weekend edition of Hannity & Colmes as “analysis of the country’s hottest races – from both sides!” They forgot to mention that one side would outnumber the other by more than two to one. But Democratic guest Jerry Brown did an outstanding job despite the odds. Alan Colmes was at the top of his game, too. Best moment of the night: Brown told Sean Hannity that his attacks on Democrats are dangerous and totalitarian. With video.

Bill O'Reilly Faces Investigation After Claiming Kansas Physician"Executes Babies"

Reported by Deborah - Sun 7:45 PM

Bill O'Reilly claimed, on The O'Reilly Factor, 11/3,that he had evidence obtained from the "inside" proving that a Kansas Physician has been " executing babies about to be born" because the mothers said they were depressed. O'Reilly referred to Dr. George Tiller as " Tiller the baby killer" on national TV and also claimed that he purposely protected the rapists of 10 to 15 year old girls who legally obtained abortions at his clinic. After the outrageous commentary, he viciously attacked guest Amy Richards, a women's rights advocate and then wrapped up the disgraceful performance with Phill Kline, a Republican candidate for Attorney General in Kansas who openly discussed the medical records on national television . Of course, the high minded cultural warrior made sure to blame everything on " the far left gone insane".

Obsession Is More Than A Perfume

Reported by Chrish - Sun 1:26 AM

NOTE: GUEST BLOGGED by Priscilla

If it’s Tuesday, it must be election day and with that in mind, Fox News is pulling out the “fright card” to scare its viewers into voting. Along with the ominous specter of Pelosi and Rangel (liberal women and blacks are high on the Fox threat index) we have radical Islam and Fox is making sure you get a “fair and balanced” view of yet another enemy to be scared of. Reported by News Hound Chrish in an earlier thread, Fox is showing the documentary “Obsession, Radical Islam’s War Against the West” four times this pre-election weekend and as my main man, John Kasich, was pre-empted for this – here it is. 11/5/06

Neil Cavuto Paints Dick Cheney As Warm and Fuzzy

Reported by Melanie - Sat 12:14 PM

Check out Neil Cavuto's Friday (November 3, 2006) editorial, also known as his "Common Sense" segment. It's titled, "The Cheney World." Here's an excerpt:

In one picture, a tiny little girl looms over her grandfather, standing on a table behind him. In another the same granddad lies in a hammock with another grand daughter. Both smiling as if in another world — their world.

This is Cheney world.

Why Was Laura Bush In John Gibson's Interview With Charlie Rangel

Reported by Deborah - Sat 4:25 AM

While Charlie Rangel was discussing giving bigger tax cuts to middle class and low income Americans, a shot of Laura Bush appearing at a Bob Corker rally was shown next to Rangels head. Laura Bush or Corker were never mentioned during the interview so obviously John Gibson and Fox were up to something. 11/3/06
