Bill Hemmer on Fox On Line today was speaking about the new report that had come out with regards to stating that the war in Iraq had made the world a more dangerous place. He mentioned Daily Kos and Huffington Post as reporting this, but when he went to talk about the story he used neither, he used former Governor, James Gilmore (R-Virginia) who has also served under the Bush administration.

Of course what we got was neither fair, nor balanced.

Chris Wallace showed himself to be unethical during his interview with President Clinton, which aired Sunday (September 24, 2006) on “Fox News Sunday.” Wallace blatantly tried to violate the terms of the agreement reached with Clinton before he agreed to his first-ever one-on-one interview with Fox News.

Tom DeLay Gets Standing Ovation From Un-balanced Hannity & Colmes Audience

Sean Hannity happily practiced the same double standard he never stops complaining about in others during Friday night’s (9/22/06) special “Thank you, America,” 10th anniversary edition of Hannity & Colmes. On a near nightly basis, Hannity fixates on any minute transgression by a liberal or Democrat and whines that they have gotten off too easily. Patrick Kennedy’s intoxication, Cynthis McKinney's scuffle with a Capitol policeman (for which she was not indicted), Rosie O’Donnell’s harsh criticism of radical Christians all received more than one Hannity & Colmes discussion. But Tom DeLay, indicted for money laundering, implicated in the Jack Abramoff scandals, admonished by the House Ethics Committee and criticized for inciting violence against judges, received a standing ovation from the un-balanced, lily-white crowd that comprised the audience. Need I mention that no questions were asked about the legal charges still pending against him? With video.

When former President Bill Clinton got upset with Chris Wallace in an interview on FOX News Sunday, FOX characterized him as "crazed." But when Bush went off on a rant in a Rose Garden speech September 15, calling it "unacceptable to think" that we may be losing our supposed moral superiority by formally adopting torture as an interrogation technique, FOX portrayed him (as usual) as nobly battling (his Republican) Congress to "keep us safe."

E. D. Hill Unceremoniously Booted from FOX & Friends

On Friday, September 22nd, FOX News Channel issued a perfunctory press release, stating that E. D. Hill would "anchor FOX News Live from 10 AM-12PM/EST beginning Monday, September 25th." The release continued, saying "Most recently, Hill served as co-host of FNC's signature morning program FOX & Friends, where she interviewed such noteworthy personalities as First Lady Laura Bush, Senator John Kerry, Senator John McCain and celebrities such as Halle Berry and Orlando Bloom. Hill was also instrumental in FNC's breaking coverage of the events on the morning of September 11th." Whoa there, pardner! There was absolutely no warning of this move. Friday's show proceeded as usual. Neither Steve Doocy nor Brian Kilmeade made any mention of the fact that Gretchen Carlson will take over Hill's responsibilities. Hill herself showed no sign that she even knew she was being replaced.

Hugo Chavez took center stage as the bad guy du jour this week with Fox News devoting hours and hours to the "extreme threat" the "crazy nut" poses to the United States. Then, on Your World Friday afternoon (September 22, 2006), during an interview with Jack Welch, the former CEO of General Electric about whether or not taxes will go up if "Dems" win control of Congress (one guess as to the answer), Cavuto pointed out that gas prices are going down which is good for Republicans. At that moment, Fox, which was airing a split screen of Welch and "Dem" bad guys like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, went to file video of a gas station - a Citgo gas station no less!

John Gibson refuses to accept the ugly truth that America is no longer admired and respected around the world. Yesterday, 9/22/06, he was angry and shocked that the American golfers competing for the Ryder Cup in Ireland were criticized for their support of Bush and the Iraq War opening his commentary with:

"What's the matter with the Irish? What happened to that century-long love affair with America? It appears to be over."

French Reporting OBL Is Dead. Can You Say October Surprise?

FOX News just announced that the the French Secret Service is reporting vis a tip from the Saudis that arch-terrorist Osama bin Laden died of typhoid on August 26th. American intelligence services are neither confirming nor denying the story. Ho-hum. Liberals have been speculating for months that the "October Surprise" would be the announcement that OBL had either been captured or killed. Despite Bush's statement that he doesn't think much about the mastermind of 9-11, the GOP knows that it stings every time a Democrat makes the charge that bin Laden is still alive. Wonder if the French decided to blow the whistle just a little bit early and take the wind out of Rove's sails? As for Mr. Al Qaeda, if he is dead, good riddance! Hannity & Colmes “Thank You, America” Show Only Thanked White America

Friday night (9/22/06), Hannity & Colmes took to the road for the first of three “Thank You, America” shows in honor of FOX News’ 10th anniversary. Their first stop was in Dallas, where they broadcast before a live studio audience of approximately 2,000. The crowd was shown repeatedly clapping with enthusiasm at nearly every Republican talking point. And there were lots of Republican talking points. But I saw no black faces in the crowd and the guest list was pure white.

Bill O'Reilly Transforms Into His "Culture Warrior" Persona For Barbara Walters Interview

Barbara Walters interviewed Bill O'Reilly tonight on 20/20 and his image was carefully crafted to reflect the traditionalist label he's created for himself as the Culture Warrior. Someone who carefully guards his privacy, he chose to conduct this interview in his very tradional colonial home seated on facing wing back chairs in a room that might have been featured in a 1950's House Beautiful spread. The man sitting across from Walters seemed very far from the O'Reilly who included a long enemies list in his book. In fact, when asked about two people on the list, his response was tolerant and amused as if he had forgotten they were his enemies.9/22/06

Is Fox News afraid to put in writing the propaganda it spews on television? I ask because this afternoon (September 22, 2006) Fox gave two very different reasons why the stock market was down today, depending on where you got your Foxfomation.

The headline at FoxNews.com/Business read (it's gone now), "So Close... Dow falls from brink of all-time high as investor pessimism about the economy pushes shares lower." If one clicked on that teaser one went to an AP story titled: "Stocks Fall on More Worries About Economy."

Fall is the season of reflection, celebration, fasting, atonement and giving thanks, saying good-bye to the old year and welcoming the new. Two religions of the book that today seem so far apart set aside this season of the year as a special one. Tonight at sundown, Jews throughout the world pause to celebrate the beginning of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. On October 1st, in a much more serious and solemn way, they will observe the High Holy Day of Yom Kippur, the day of atonement. On Sunday September 24th, Muslims throughout the world will begin their month-long period of fasting and prayer known as Ramadan. I would like to take this opportunity to offer all of our Jewish and Muslim readers a very heartfelt wish that the next twelve months see the end of war, death, destruction, mistrust and oppression and the beginning of dialogue and peace.
