Cultures of Sarasota

Sarasota is not only a showcase of art and culture, it also attracts diversity and people of many cultures. It is a city that demonstrates how well humans can live together in harmonious diversity. As can be seen from the links below, citizens of many countries come to Sarasota not only to live here, but also to preserve and celebrate their native cultures through organizations, festivals, and exhibits. Sarasota has also extended official cross-cultural ties to many cities around the world through active participation in the Sister Cities program. And of course Sarasota honors the very first residents here, the First Nations cultures.

The area is a shining example of what Bahá'ís call "unity in diversity" — like the many different flowers of a garden, humanity achieves its perfection when it recognizes all of its diverse shades of thought, temperament and character. Explore Sarasota's many "flowers" by following the links to cultural organizations below, visiting one of the many museums, or browsing some history.
