Speaking with "The Five," Martha MacCallum offered her reaction to her interview with Brett and Ashley Kavanaugh which airs during "The Story" at 7 p.m. ET.

MacCallum said Kavanaugh told her he wanted to take the opportunity to "clear his name" amid sexual misconduct allegations.

"We asked him about every single allegation," MacCallum said. "It's clear that he believes he didn't do anything along the lines of these allegations," she said.

In the interview, Kavanaugh told MacCallum: "The truth is I’ve never sexually assaulted anyone, in high school or otherwise. I am not questioning and have not questioned that perhaps Dr. Ford at some point in her life was sexually assaulted by someone at some place but what I know is I’ve never sexually assaulted anyone."

Greg Gutfeld called Avenatti's claims "grotesque," referencing a subsequent tweet from the attorney that went into even further lurid details.

Judge Jeanine Pirro added that Avenatti should be careful in making such allegations:

"Accusing someone of gang rape is slander, per se," she said, adding that he should be concerned about his law license if that claim is ever litigated by an oversight board.
