'I said probably is no good and took a pass': Andy Murray's tweet goes viral as he mocks Donald Trump's boast about Time magazine honour by joking that he too would turn down being BBC Sports Personality of the Year prize
- Donald Trump tweeted his disdain at 'probably' being Time's Person of the Year
- Andy Murray responded by repeating the tone and manner of Trump's tweet
- He joked he would 'probably' be named BBC Sports Personality winner
Andy Murray might not be best known for his sense of humour but he demonstrated his funny side with a hilarious tweet aimed at Donald Trump.
The US President took to Twitter late on Friday to claim that Time Magazine was planning on making him their Person of the Year again.
He wrote: 'Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!'

The claim was disputed by Time, which said it does not comment on who features in its annual issue until its publication in December.
The matter naturally garnered the interest of social media with numerous people mocking the President's assertion.
It was a little over an hour before Murray responded to Trump, who was awarded the Person of the Year in 2016.
The tennis star wrote: 'Bbc just called to say I was PROBABLY going to be named sports personality of the year but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!'
Murray is a three-time BBC Sports Personality of the Year winner but it is fair to say he faces very little chance of winning it this time around.
Time took to its own Twitter page to hit back at Mr Trump's claims.

Trump was named Person of the Year last year by the magazine following his shock election victory over Hillary Clinton
Time Magazine says Trump was wrong to say that he was told he would 'probably' be named Person of the Year. 'The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year,' the publication tweeted on Friday.
The publication wrote: 'The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6.'
Trump frequently brags about his cover appearances in the iconic magazine.
He has falsely claimed to hold the record of cover appearances, and was revealed earlier this year to have displayed fake issues of Time at several of his private golf clubs.
