Tidal times and heights in tables

Tidal times are stated in Universal Time -3 hours and is (with few exceptions) local Greenland time. When summer time applies, times are increased by 1 hour (Universal Time -2 hours).

Tidal heights are stated in meter relative to the chart datum which is the lowest astronomical tide. Tidal heights must, therefore, be added to the depth specified in the chart in order to get water depth at either high or low tide.

Sea level: measurements and forecasts

Tidal tables are only indicators of variations in sea level caused by lunar and solar attraction (astronomical tide). The actual sea level variations are sums of the astronomical tide and the variations caused by other factors, such as wind and air pressure.
