What is the Lions tour schedule?

This will be match seven of 10 on the tour.

What are they saying?

Warren Gatland:

The Lions coach says his team were still ironing out their combinations and although he was happy with the defensive side of their game, knows the All Blacks would present a massive step up.

"It takes a bit of time," he said. "We knew we were creating tries we just haven't been finishing them off.

"From a defensive point of view we're getting stronger and stronger in that area against the best attacking teams in world rugby. We're strangling them a little bit in the way that we're defending too.

"On Saturday we're up against the best team in the world in their own backyard, a place they haven't been beaten at since 1994, so we have to take things up a level."

Jack Nowell:

"We wanted to come here and be remembered. A couple of midweek games haven't gone our way, discipline has been massive for us," Nowell said.

"We didn't have plans to lose and we wanted to play with a bit of excitement and score a few tries and finish the last midweek game going into the series well.

"Back at Exeter they call me the 'Pick and Go King' because I keep scoring the forwards' tries. Any try in a Lions shirt means a lot and I'm just thankful I can do it for the boys."

Chiefs coach Dave Rennie:

"They dominated up front. We battled to get our lineout going. Our scrum. And they punished us for it," Rennie said.

"(But) the All Blacks will play the way they play, they will back themselves and their skill set to challenge the Lions."

What are the odds?

  • Lions - 4/1
  • New Zealand - 1/4
  • Draw - 33/1

What's our prediction?

The Lions forwards look strong enough to strangle New Zealand at source, while the tourists' defence has been exceptional. This might be more in hope than expectation, but that is enough to predict a one-score win for Warren Gatland's side.
