A closely-watched House race is coming down to the wire in Georgia, where the candidates faced off in a debate last night.
Democrat Jon Ossoff and Republican Karen Handel are competing in a special election to fill the seat vacated by HHS Secretary Tom Price.
At one point in the debate, Handel called out Ossoff on the fact that he cannot cast a ballot for himself because he does not live in the 6th Congressional District.
"Who are you going to vote for in this election?" she asked.
Ossoff was silent for a few seconds, answering that he's already addressed the questions about his residency.
Ossoff, a documentary filmmaker and former congressional staffer, said he lives near Emory University in order to support his fiancee while she attends medical school.
"I'm proud to be supporting her career even if I take a little bit of political heat for it," he said.
He criticized Handel for being born and raised in Washington, D.C., and then becoming a "career politician."
Handel countered that Ossoff's residency outside the district is a concern to voters.
"I didn't get to pick where I was born," she said, slamming Ossoff for being financially backed by coastal liberals.
"You might live just five minutes outside the district, but your values are nearly 3,000 miles away in San Francisco," she said.
The runoff will be held on June 20 and according to Real Clear Politics, the race is neck-and-neck.
