Our partners

2017 will be an important milestone in the history of our country: a time for Canadians to connect and to share stories about who we are and where we are headed as a nation. CBC/Radio-Canada is partnering with the following organizations to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation.

CBC/Radio-Canada is the Official Broadcast Partner of Canada 150 Federal Secretariat division of Canadian Heritage established to promote the year-long sesquicentennial celebration, build momentum and ignite nation-wide participation in the 150 day countdown. CBC/Radio-Canada is partnering with Canada 150 to provide a public space where we can invite Canadians to events, pop-up activations, stunts, art installations and more happening throughout the country while showcasing the many great Canadian stories.

CBC/Radio-Canada is an Official Partner of the 150ALLIANCE, an open network of organizations, groups and individuals working to make the most out of Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation. CBC/Radio-Canada will tap into the 150Alliance’s national network to highlight the diverse array of events and activities taking place in every province and territory for Canada’s sesquicentennial.

CBC/Radio-Canada is the Official Broadcast Partner of SESQUI, a Signature Initiative of Canada 150. SESQUI’s travelling mobile dome will tour communities across Ontario offering visitors an immersive media experience. Visitors will engage in the experience via an original 360° film. This will be a once-in-a-generation opportunity to experience Canada like it’s never been experienced before.
CBC/Radio-Canada is also an Official Partner of Community Foundations of Canada and its national network of 191 community foundations. Leveraging the deep local roots community foundations have from coast to coast to coast, CBC/Radio-Canada will showcase the stories and impact of their work, including the local initiatives being funded through the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th.
CBC/Radio-Canada is the broadcast partner of the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards Gala. Each year, these Awards recognize seven Canadian artists from the disciplines of classical and popular music, theatre, dance, film and broadcasting, as well as one prominent arts philanthropist. This year the Gala Awards show will be live streamed on cbc.ca and radio-canada.ca as part of their 2017 programming. In addition, CBC/Radio-Canada will air a one-hour special presentation of the Gala, on both CBC and ICI Radio-Canada Télé, on June 30, 2017 at 9 p.m. EST.
CBC/Radio-Canada is the Official Media Partner of Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal to promote MosaïCanada 150/2017, the biggest horticultural art event in Canada, taking place at Jacques Cartier Park in Gatineau, QC. Over 107 days from June 30 to October 15, 2017, MosaïCanada will feature an exhibit of giant plant sculptures using living artworks made primarily from plants and colourful foliage, as well as sculpture and paint to represent 150 years of Canadian history, values, culture and arts.
CBC/Radio-Canada is pleased to announce CIBC as the first lead partner of Canada 150 in 2017, corresponding with the bank’s own 150th birthday. Details around the partnership will be announced at a later date.
