Our vision

The government has launched public consultations to develop a modern cultural policy framework for a digital age centred on three principles: it should focus on citizens and creators, reflect Canadian identity and promote democracy, and support social and economic innovation.

These principles are deeply embedded in the work that we do at CBC/Radio-Canada and central to our evolution. But for Canadian content to flourish in today’s world of borderless, limitless content, Canada needs a radically different approach to supporting culture in this country.
