To ensure compliance and accountability to those standards, the CBC and Radio-Canada Ombudsmen act as appeal authorities for complainants who are dissatisfied with responses from CBC and Radio-Canada information or program management.

The Ombudsmen are completely independent of CBC/Radio-Canada program staff and management, reporting directly to the President and, through him, to the Corporation's Board of Directors.
