Ontario residents will have more choice when it comes to buying alcohol with beer and cider coming to even more grocery stores — just in time for Canada Day.

The province announced on Tuesday that 76 additional independent and large grocery stores will be authorized to sell beer and cider beginning on June 30.

That's in addition to the 130 grocery stores in the province that are already allowed to sell beer and cider - with 70 of those also selling wine - bringing the total number of stores to 206.

Loblaws, Sobeys, and Walmart Supercentre locations are among the new stores across the Greater Toronto Area.

The province launched the program in December 2015, and is ultimately aiming for beer and cider sales at 450 grocery stores.

Here is a list and map of the grocery store locations where you can buy beer and cider in Ontario.

Grocery stores that sell beer must follow strict rules set out by the province. Beer must be stocked in designated areas, can only be sold in six-packs and singles, and costs the same as beer at LCBO stores. Grocery stores cannot sell beer stronger than 7.1 per cent alcohol by volume.
