Michael Oshry is the city's third councillor to announce he is not running again for city council.

"I am not seeking re-election for Ward 5," Oshry said in a tweet Wednesday. "It has been my pleasure to serve the citizens of the ward and the City of Edmonton."

Oshry, who represents Ward 5 in the city's west end, told CBC he simply made a decision that he wasn't interested in running again.

While no issue stands out for him as a highlight during his term, Oshry said he felt he brought an interesting perspective to council on a many issues.

Oshry joins Bryan Anderson and Ed Gibbons in leaving council this fall.

Edmontonians go to the polls on Monday, Oct. 16.
