La La and Carmelo Anthony's divorce 'could trigger pre-nuptial agreement over $200 million fortune'... as dancer claims she is six months pregnant with his baby

Carmelo Anthony and La La Anthony’s potential divorce could trigger a complex pre-nuptial agreement over the division of their estimated $200 million fortune.

The former couple announced their separation in April amid claims that basketball player Carmelo, 32, slept with a New York based dancer who now claims to be six and half months pregnant.

But TMZ report the pre-nuptial agreement he and La La, 37, reportedly signed prior to marrying in 2010 may still work in his favour should they push ahead with their divorce, due to the sportsman’s considerable earning power.

Carmelo is understood to be midway through a lucrative $124 million contract with the New York Knicks, while additional income is generated through his work as a brand ambassador for Nike Air Jordan and global footwear chain Foot Locker.

Conversely La La – a former MTV presenter – has made her own money through a variety of hosting and acting jobs, amongst them reality show For The Love Of Ray J and US drama Law And Order: Special Victims Unit.

Separate business endeavours, such as the publication of autobiography The Love Playbook in 2014 – a number 1 on the Barnes & Noble bestseller list – and a producer’s credit on Broadway show Eclipsed in 2016 have also boosted her coffers.

However should La La receive less than expected from the reported agreement, TMZ claim she has grounds to challenge - a move that could result in a settlement from the basketball star. 

The website previously reported that Carmeo s alleged to have slept with a dancer based at a gentlemen's club in New York, with  'multiple sources' claiming the dancer is pregnant and expects him to pay for her medical expenses and other costs. 

MailOnline has contacted Carmelo's representatives for further comment.

A source told TMZ on Monday that the couple, who have 10-year-old son Kiyan, are now 'living separately'.

'La La moved out of the family home last week and has her own place in NYC now,' the source said.

The split was put down to Carmelo being stressed over the possibility of being traded by the New York Knicks.

Speaking about her marriage last year, La La - who is close friends with Kim Kardashian - told Access Hollywood they had their 'up and downs'. 

She said: 'If anyone says in 10 years you don’t go through ups and downs, they’re lying to you. We’re in a real relationship. 

'We have our ups and we have our downs, but we definitely work through them, and we’re great right now.' 

The couple began dating in 2004 and got married in 2010, with the ceremony shown on their reality series La La's Full Court Wedding.
