Not all students, however, use university recess periods to get into trouble.
Jesse Watters spent some time with undergraduate students in the University of Delaware Alternative Breaks Program, which sends students on service learning experiences during spring and winter breaks.
Students in the Appalachia Service Project traveled to West Virginia to repair homes in low-income areas.
Watters visited one of the build sites to see why these students would rather spend their spring break volunteering than partying on some tropical beach.
For most of these students, volunteering is simply something they've always done...
Others appreciate the opportunity to unplug for a while and do "what's really important"...
The owner of a home that's being repaired through the program is extremely thankful...
