Legal Services

2.4.1 Legal Services

All legal services (as defined in the Guidelines and Interpretation section) must be provided by or under the supervision of the Law Department. The Law Department shall either provide the legal services itself or shall retain and manage directly the services of outside counsel. The Law Department shall plan, monitor and control the costs related to the provision of both internal and external legal services.

2.4.2 Legal Proceedings

CBC/Radio-Canada expects employees to perform their duties within the law. However, CBC/Radio-Canada employees may be sued or prosecuted as a result of acts or omissions committed in the course of their employment. The Corporation recognizes that in some instances the employee may be indemnified.
