'We waste so much time feeling anxious rather than just being in the moment': Singer and TV presenter Alesha Dixon takes our health quiz
CAN YOU RUN UP THE STAIRS?
Yes, although I don't really have a fitness regime — I just try to work out as much as I can, be it in the gym or walking my two cocker spaniels, Rosie and Prince.
My personal trainer, Janet, is a machine. She never seems to get tired and takes pleasure in seeing me in pain.

GET YOUR FIVE A DAY?
I try. I love juices and smoothies made with fruit and vegetables. My mum is on a raw food and vegan diet, and I've been a pescatarian for about four years.
ANY VICES?
I eat cleanly and avoid processed food 90 per cent of the time, but I do treat myself. I love pizza, Indian takeaways and Maltesers. But it's all in moderation.
WOULD YOU HAVE PLASTIC SURGERY?
No, I believe you can look your best by taking good care of yourself. I eat as well as I can, exercise when I can and use natural oils like coconut or vitamin E on my skin.
I believe what you put into your body is what you'll see on the outside.
COPE WELL WITH PAIN?
I like to think I cope pretty well. When I'm working out with Janet, it can feel so painful, but I love the feeling once you've done it.
The endorphins kick in and you feel so relaxed.

COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES?
I have a very busy schedule and sometimes it can take a while to switch off when I go to bed at night.
So I've recently begun taking a herbal sleep aid. I've found it does help.
HEALTH BOOK THAT CHANGED YOUR LIFE?
I love spiritual books such as A Return To Love, by Marianne Williamson. It's about how love is a powerful healing force.
Also, A New Earth, by Eckhart Tolle, which offers spiritual insights into how to live a more fulfilling life. For me, it is important to work on my mind and soul.

POP ANY PILLS?
I take multivitamins to help boost my energy levels and a supplement [that contains vitamins C, B, iron, zinc, iodine, selenium and biotin] to keep my nails strong and complexion clear.
HANGOVER CURE?
A green juice made with avocado, banana, spinach, broccoli, celery and lime juice.
I have always been a fan of juicing — it tastes good, makes you feel great and the benefits are incredible.

WHAT KEEPS YOU AWAKE AT NIGHT?
All the things whizzing around in my head, especially when I've got so much on with work and I have to juggle that with being a mum.
Time with my partner and daughter helps me de-stress.
BIGGEST PHOBIA?
Letting life pass me by. We waste so much time feeling anxious, rather than just being in the present moment.
I always try to enjoy the moment.

LIKE TO LIVE FOR EVER?
I tend not to think that far ahead. But it's nice to approach the new year with a fresh mind set.
I give thanks for all the wonderful blessings in my life and hope for another incredible year.
