The US is to send 300 troops to Cameroon to help in the fight against Boko Haram. Their focus will be on intelligence-gathering and surveillance. In Burundi, at least half a dozen people are killed in the latest clashes. And South Africa's first female police chief is suspended. Riah Phiyega has been pulled off the job as investigators take a closer look at her role in the Marikana massacre in which police officers shot dead dozens of striking miners.
