The large depth of field available in the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) makes it possible to observe three-dimensional objects and specimens using stereoscopy. 3D images allow different morphological features to be correctly interpreted and measured.

Our services

Our Microscopy & Microanalysis Unit provides light photomicrographs and Scanning Electron Micrographs to the Australian Museum Research Institute and our public education and exhibition programs, as well as external government agencies, groups and a wide variety of organisations and individuals.
