Hello from Gurujada!

Hi there!

Thanks for stopping by and checking us out! If you are a professional trainer, we want to make sure you have reasons to come here often. If you are an Ed-tech enthusiast, you are not lost. We have something to keep you warm. If you are a journo, let us know how we could get your attention. Those who have a skill that can be shared with others, please keep the comments flowing on what you feel about this initiative. We hope we can make this an interesting space for all of us.

At Gurujada, we are people from similar walks of life, all sharing a common vision. With this very blog post, we have begun an important journey in our lives. A journey with larger than life objectives. A journey that we hope to enjoy throughout. A journey we want to learn from. We have all put in years in the online teaching and learning space and are big believers in the scale that it brings. We believe the geographic boundaries that separate an able teacher from a willing student should be replaced with accessible connections that lead to a better world.

We start with two simple objectives - make it easy for teachers to use the online mode to teach; and get more people to be able to access the teachers, who can help them become better at what they want to.

The name Gurujada literally translates to the path of the teacher. We believe it is for the teacher to walk, lay and show the path. However, if we could make the laying and showing parts a bit more convenient, it is a worthy effort. Being easy to use, for us, is more important than fancy interfaces. Being useful takes front seat compared to a bloated feature set. At the end of the day, if a teacher uses our product and can see a visible difference in the way she met her learning outcomes, our dreams would come true.

We want to make Gurujada work for every teacher out there. It matters more to us than anything else. Nonetheless, we have so many areas out there where teachers operate. You have teachers teaching primary school kids, middle school, high school, undergrad, graduate, post graduate, doctoral, vocational, test prep, professional, career skills, life skills, and many more. Now, based on what is taught, and who are taught, and who is teaching, the requirements from our product would vary quite a bit. No matter how hard we try, it is not practical to serve all teachers on day one. Instead, we focus on one segment of teachers, the professional trainers, as the first group of teachers and begin from there.

As we learn from the experience of serving the professional trainers, we hope to bring in updates to the product to make it more universally applicable. We believe such an approach is more practical, given our own limitations. This choice is purely driven by market study, and we hope the professional trainers would prove us right. Now, you may ask who are professional trainers? In our opinion, you are a professional trainer if you operate as a self-employed professional and run training for a fee from which you make a living. We have professional trainers who run courses on core academics, test prep, career skills, vocational skills, and what not. There has been no better time in the history of the internet than now, to take these training courses online.

Now you could easily guess why we are going after the professional trainers. These are people who took the risk of being on their own, and have the know-how on what it takes to be a successful professional trainer. Most of them earn their living by sharing their expertise and experience and help tens and hundreds of people to start and better their careers. We want to help increase these tens and hundreds to thousands, increase the reach of trainers to new geographies, communities and, who knows, to new methods of training. Importantly though, we can make the experience of training a bit more pleasurable and thereby improve the quality of the experience for both the trainer and the student.

Don't forget to share your comments! Thanks for reading.
