  • Decoding and respecting Creative Commons

The Creative Commons (commonly known as CC) is a licensing model that is built to encourage content publishers to share their content without worrying about copyright infringements. Simply put, you create a cool video and believe a lot of people would want to use it, but you do not want people to sell it or make use of it in ways that you do not want them to, going CC is a great option.

  • Sourcing Content - Finding free content online

We will explore various sources that give you access to quality content for free, albeit with some restrictions, that you can make use of. We will dig into the Open Educational Resources, shortly referred to as OER and the initiatives that were built on top of it. Importantly, we will cover some ground on how you, as a teacher can take advantage of the OER movement.

  • Decided to teach online but not sure how to go about it? Here's help.

The world of online teaching is vast and branched out into many areas. It would be too much to try and cover all of this in one blog. So I have broken this into a series of articles. These articles focus on three primary aspects of teaching, and not surprisingly, teaching in general. Through this series, I will draw upon my own experience in addition to many others I am working with, have spoken to, and from some authors I respect in the field of online teaching. I hope you will enjoy this.

  • Training Live Online? Found your mojo yet?

Since globalization, businesses needed such solutions to connect with customers, vendors, or even employees who could not meet in person due to geographical constraints. Since these meetings would mean serious business, customers of these tools needed a flawless experience. So companies like Cisco and Citrix went all out and put technology to work and got that experience. It did not take long for people to get inspired from the idea of online meetings and apply that in training and education.
