Music fans in America are about to learn what those in New Zealand already know … Lorde is the real deal!

The 16-year-old singer is set to bring her unique sound to U.S. audiences soon, but until that time comes, we have the new music video for her song “Tennis Court.”

Lorde, who’s real name is Ella Yelich-O’Connor, lets her voice and lyrics really shine, thanks to the super simple one-take video that is just the teen in black clothing, braided hair, and dark lipstick staring into the screen and giving the occasional “yeah.”

“Tennis Court” is off Lorde’s The Tennis Court EP, which was released in her native country on June 7 and is headed to the U.K. next on July 22.

“Tennis Court” debuted at No. 1 on New Zealand Top 40 singles chart, making her the first artist to have four singles in the Top 20, which beat Sia‘s record of three songs.

Lorde’s first single from her March 2013 The Love Club EP, “Royals,” has already started to make some waves Stateside. Check out the video for that one below!
