The national-cultural autonomy of Ukrainians in Novosibirsk address you with the request for assistance to organize broadcasting in Novosibirsk region.
Our Ukrainian community was established in 1989 and one of its major goals was the idea to organize Radio and TV broadcasting in Ukrainian language providing thematic information on Ukrainian culture, history, history of Ukrainian studies, etc.)

“Ukrainian TV and Radio” helped us to do it by sending audio recordings and video recordings of TV programs. Therefore, every year we could organize up to 6-10 radio broadcastings on Ukrainian topics and after establishment of TV company “Young culture of Siberia” in addition we could make weekly one-hour Sunday TV broadcasts. During all this time there was lack of information for broadcast. Many times we addressed to Ukraine to UT-1 channel but the matter was complicated through problems with delivery of tapes and their return to them. Well aware of the importance of access to information of Ukrainians in Russia I repeatedly addressed to Presidents of Ukraine with the request for assistance in organizing satellite television transmission.

Today I am glad to say – there is Ukrainian Television in Siberia!

Now we can inform you that a test transmission was made on the Ukrainian channel with the help of Director General of TV company “Young culture of Siberia” Sulianov Yuriy Oleksandrovych.

We ask You, Vasyl Vasyliovych, to give official permission to organize free rebroadcast (on-air broadcasting) because, as you understand, not all persons in the official authority like the idea of broadcasting programs of your channel. I am from Uzbekistan. Can I write to you in Russian language (I speak Ukrainian, but I am afraid to make many mistakes in my letter)?

My name is Alla Kuzminichna, I was born in Uzbekistan (Andijan) but I have Ukrainian roots that come from Luhansk and Donetsk region. Long ago, in 1951-1956, I spent my childhood in Ukraine, I studied in Donetsk, school ¹
53. But my father lived in Uzbekistan and I had to come back home.
Why do I write to you? Because I have been watching programs of the World Service UTR by satellite TV for 6 months. And I discovered for myself new Ukraine.
How old am I? I am 63. I am chief of economic service of one of the biggest enterprises Unitarian Subsidiary Company “Mubarek Neftegas”. Where is Mubarek situated? It is very far from Ukraine.

It is situated in Kashkadarya region and it is very hot there. In this small town only I have satellite dish that rides Express AM 22-56E wave. I have been looking for it for a long time and finally I have found it. From now on all my weekends I spend near TV-set watching programs of UTR channel. I learnt a lot of interesting things about Ukraine, I enjoy in Ukrainian language. My grand mother said “Knowledge that you got in childhood would never be lost in old age.”

I would like to congratulate you on your holiday of Independence (on August 24). Citizens of Uzbekistan celebrate their Independence Day (in Uzbek language Mustakyllyk) on September 1.

I would like to wish Ukraine happiness. May God help you and Ukrainian people.

When I watch your channel it seems to me that I am in a different world. Your channel broadcasts many interesting programs, but most of all I like children’s programs “territory of childhood”, programs for teenagers and youth and concerts.

I record your programs on videocassettes, for other people to watch them and discover Ukraine. In my notes (for 15.07. I wrote “I really feel that it is something close and dear to me” maybe because I have Ukrainian genes”)

Once again I wish you successes, thank you for your noble work in promoting Ukrainian patriotism, it is always a great pleasure to watch your programs .

Good morning, Vasyl! I thank you for your answer. I use web site www.see.tv, where UTR EUROPE is broadcasted. Thanks to rich national cultural heritage Ukrainian television is very informative, in particular UTR channel, in comparison with television of West.
