With only a few days to go before the 2014 World Cup gets underway in Brazil, Greece will be looking to go one step further than they did in South Africa four years ago and reach the tournament’s knock out phase.

Giorgios Karagounis’ team-mates have been drawn in Group C along with Colombia, Ivory Coast and Asian champions Japan.

In such a tight group, Greece’s trademark rock-solid defence, which let in just four goals in 10 qualifiers, will again serve as their strongest asset.

Three of those goals were conceded in a 3-1 loss to Bosnia, meaning Greece let in just one goal in the other nine games.

Fernando Santos’ men open their World Cup campaign against Colombia on June 14.
