The 19th century British architect Owen Jones is the subject of a new exhibition in the United Arab Emirates.

Jones, one of the most influential design theorists of his time, looked to the Islamic world for much of his inspiration.

He was a pivotal figure in the founding of the South Kensington Museum, later to become the Victoria and Albert Museum and many of items in this exhibition have been lent by the V&A.

Owen Jones: Islamic Design, Discovery and Vision can be seen at the Museum of Islamic Civilisation in Sharjah until mid July, when it will transfer to South Korea.
