Košice Music Spring Festival is an annual classical music festival held in Košice, Slovakia for one week during the month of May. Founded in 1956, the festival is one of the oldest music festivals in Slovakia and is considered the highlight of Kosice’s concert season. |

In the open air on a podium in Hlavná Street in Košice, the Pentapolitana towns will present their best music groups, arts ensembles and events by their cultural institutions in a programme called The Best of Pentapolitana. A gala programme in the afternoon and early evening hours will be supported by accompanying events from individual towns. |

A concert of the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra will certainly be one of the biggest events of Košice - European Capital of Culture 2013. Within its exclusive Czech-Slovak tour, after a concert in Prague Spring Music Festival, the prominent Japanese orchestra will perform in Košice with their conductor, Kazuhiro Koizumi. The soloist in Dvořák‘s violin concert will be violinist Sayaka Shoji. |

The Convergences international festival of chamber music in Košice, established in 2000, has noticed a significant increase in the programme as well as the interest of the public and audiences in recent years. In its fifth year, the festival again wants to focus upon cooperation between top Slovak interpreters (many who are Košice born or graduates of the Košice Conservatoire) and, of course, it will bring extremely interesting guests from abroad especially for 2013. |

Within the „Celebration of Hungarian Music“ project, we are planning to hold an all day concert which will include music of various types and genres. We will start with music for children. This part will consist of folklore music and compositions for children, mainly from compositions including poems from Hungarian poets mainly from Slovakia. |

The IOF is the oldest festival of organ music held in Slovakia. Its founder and long term dramaturge was Prof. Ivan Sokol (1937-2005). In recent years this magnificent collection of organ music has successfully spread from Košice to other towns in the Košice and Prešov region, where the organ concerts have been met with great interest. |

The world renowned soprano, today already a megastar, Edita Grúberová, comes from Slovakia but her career took off abroad. She has performed on all the major world opera stages and cooperated with prominent opera directors and conductors. The International Jazz Festival in Košice is the second oldest in Slovakia and it has so far brought rejuvenation and an improvement in the quality of cultural

The project focuses upon the maintenance, support and presentation of folklore culture. It is a regional competition for adults from all parts of Košice.
The aim is to encourage singers of folklore songs and members of singing groups to seek, formulate and interpret musical/singing folklore material and create space for public presentation and discussion. |
