Corporate Partnerships

Since its inception, Conservation International has partnered with the private sector, based on our belief that business represents an essential part of the solution to our most critical environmental challenges.

CI created the Center for Environmental Leadership in Business (CELB) in 2000 to be a catalyst for innovation, convening corporate and environmental leaders to break new ground in the development of green business models and global commitments to healthy ecosystems and sustainable growth. CI works with the private sector through CELB to engage business as a positive force for conservation for the benefit of people and the planet.

CI conducts due diligence before entering into all corporate partnerships. We systematically look at a corporation’s operations, along with its commitments and track record on the environment and human rights. It is through this process that we assess the risks and benefits of specific partnerships, and ensure that any corporate relationship we establish reflects the integrity of CI’s mission. CI will not enter into exclusive arrangements with corporate partners, and reserves the right to terminate any corporate relationship based on continuing evaluation of business practices and sustainability performance.
